Zoo

Luna and I went to the zoo today while we were in DC. It was kind of spur of the moment and while a map and a plan would have probably been helpful...we had a great time just the same. Having a baby makes doing "family-fun" type of stuff way more awesome. Seriously, babies make holidays better, birthday parties are a blast, the beach...everything. So, even though the zoo was way more awesome because she was there and also because we got to check out all my favorite animals because as far as I know she doesn't have a preference yet, there was one part where Luna kind of let me down.

So, we wanted to see the monkeys, sorry, orangutans, but didn't get to see much. It was later in the day and all the animals were pretty much getting carted off for their dinners. But as we were leaving the ape house there was this one orangutan who had a little window portal that looked to where everyone was walking out of the doors. You could get face to face with him through that little portal so of course I was all up in his grill. But all the sudden he started showing us all something he had in his mouth and then... he spit it out.

Poop!

Then he put it back in his mouth! Then he pursed his little monkey bottom lip out and showed it to us again. I couldn't turn away! It was so awesome and disgusting! But guess who didn't even give an ess? Luna. My own flesh and blood didn't care than a monkey was eating it's own poop. I was so disappointed. And then we just left. And she got to walk around the zoo a little instead of being in the stroller...and she liked that a lot. But not the poop.

She's such a weirdo!!!
